I got home on Monday just in time to see the boy next door, loading his clothing and his dog into his mom's SUV. He has lived next door with his dad for several years now. They have always been good neighbors. My first thought when I saw them was..."Oh no...Speedy's moving!" Speedy is his gorgeous black lab. He's also been next door for several years now...since he was a pup. When he first came...he got very lonely at night...and would bark incessantly. I can't count the number of times that I either opened the bedroom window and spoke softly to him...or actually went out on the deck and talked to him...across the fence...in the dark of night. All he wanted was to know that he wasn't alone. At the sound of my voice, he would stop barking...and wag his entire body, as he 'grinned' back at me! I got so used to talking to him...that I rarely stepped out the back door...without greeting Speedy! I will miss him very much! It saddens me to see the dismantled dog run across the fence now.
Be Well!

What a fantastic fort! Such a shame about Speedy - maybe they'll visit.
What a sweet fort!!!
Of course, had I been feeling better, you and I would have made a much better fort...then we would have CLOBBERED those little kids. :-)
