Sooo...we thought that everything was finally coming to some resolution. After a year of unemployment...my husband received two job offers in the same week. One was a higher salary than the other, so he turned down the low one and accepted the high one. They scheduled him for some "testing", which he took. We waited for three days on word about what his start date would be, and they finally called today to tell him that according to the "test"...his management style isn't what they were looking for after all. He has been a manager many times and was very successful.
So...not only do we not have the job that he accepted...but the other one has been filled. I feel so bad for him...he has done everything right...to no avail. This week just needs to end.
Be Well

I have just started blogging. Last night to be exact. I happened upon the "next blog" button and came to your entry. My husband and I are both in the same situation as your husband. Both w/ degrees and both looking for those slim job offers. I wanted to say that I really like your compassion for your husband's situation and the supportive way you discuss your challenges. There must be a job coming for your family wherein the pay will be enough and your husband will by appreciated for the many talents he does have and can share. Best of luck to you. Sammy
I have no Blog to mention, and I am retired with grown children and a wife of over 40 years. I will pray for you and your husband starting tonight. I think good news will be coming your way soon.
I just stumbled across your blog tonight. I hope that good news comes your way soon. I know it's hard to remember during times like these, but things happen for a reason.
Good luck to you!
I'm sorry he didn't get it :( Hopefully a new offer will come around soon!

I too have an unemployed husband. Looking for work is very frustrating, and companies so often treat you terribly.
Good luck to you both!
It must be really hard, being knocked back after thinking that your husband had the Job. I feel for you. all I can say is keep trying, it will all work out in the end.
I just stumbled on your blog with the next blog button and read your post. Last year my husband read a book called "Cult of personality", that talked about how ineffective personality testing is and also mentioned how they are being used in an illegal discriminatory way. Some people have filed law suits. I usually never comment on peoples blogs. Just FYI! Hope things work out for you.

I've been unemployed for nearly half a year so I know how you feel it is awful and incredibly frustrating! I have had a lot of experience behind me in my field and still get told that I don't have enough, it makes me want to scream! I hope things pick up for your husband soon...hopefully he will be repaid with a blinding job that he adores x

Sadly, my dad had gone thr the SAME unfortunate thing a year ago when he tried to find a new job. But dont worry, There will always be new opportunities, just stay strong. and Best wishes!
I give you a quote from a 19th Century General: "All skill is in vain if an angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket."
There are always words of encouragement and I'm sure you're receiving many; adding to that are mine.
All the best in the challenging times.
Hope your husband found a job.
