America's Got Talent...but no judgment...

My faith in humanity has taken another hit. Bianca won...holy cow. I may not watch next season. Hang in there Miller!! You are destined for greatness!

On the flip side...our Rolling Stones tickets are in!!! Yea!!!!!!!! Oddly enough...so are our Michael W Smith tickets! These two concerts couldn't be more different...but they will both be a blast!! The dichotomy is astounding!

The search for gainful, rewarding, enjoyable employment continues. I have a job, so I don't feel the urgency of hunger forcing me to 'settle'. I do, however, feel an urgency of a different kind. Time passes so quickly...days become weeks, weeks become months, months turn into years. Even the minutes slip by with dizzying swiftness. I don't want to spend the remainder of my 'allotted time' on this earth, stuck in a daily routine that I don't enjoy. I had a dream of sorts a week or so ago. I dreamt that I had found the 'perfect' job. My title was 'Story Lady', and I went to 4 daycare centers each day. At each one, I would walk in, roll out a big piece of carpet, and then all of the 4 and 5 year olds would sit around me. First, I would read them stories, from big, colorful books...about Fred, and Bertha, and magic gnomes. Then, using a big dry/erase board, pictures, and props...we worked on the alphabet...and phonics. The centers each paid me $25.00 a day to come in and help prepare the kids for kindergarten. (The dream was very detailed.) It was awesome!

Then I woke up. At first I was really excited...then as I REALLY woke up...I realized that no day care would hire me to do those things...that's what they have staff for. It was good while it lasted!

Tomorrow is Friday...thank heavens!!

Be Well!

I haven't been to a concert in over a year, and now I have tickets to two different show (two VERY different shows!). It's funny you had that dream because I saw a "Wife Swap" episode a few weeks ago where the wife was a story lady! She dressed up and told stories at public libraries and other kid places. . . the family was losing over $30,000 per year on her endevor, but, by golly, she enjoyed it! You could do it without the loosing of money, though - you'd rock!

Wouldn't that be a cool job? Do you think there is any chance they would pay for it? I have been tempted to send out a couple of letters to daycare centers and ask...

I say give it a shot! Daycare centers and the libraries. Some of them probably already have similar programs - you should check!
