Finally home...the end of a long, sucky day. I'm struggling lately not to give in to the blues...some days it seems almost futile. I determined today, not to let the idiots get me down, so I kept a smile on my face and a lilt in my voice and made light conversation with customers. The saying goes that "you get what you give"...but that's not always true. It was true...from the strangers that I connected with today...I smiled and they smiled...even some who came in with an obvious chip on their shoulders. But the "bevy of biddies" smile not. I sometimes wonder how exhausting it must be to be that nasty and negative ALL the time.

On the upside, the temperature was in the upper 60's today, and it was beautiful! I sat outside on the curb during a late break this afternoon and just enjoyed the warmth of the sunshine on my skin. After we got home from work, I put a meatloaf and potatoes in the oven and we took off for a mile walk...it was fabulous! There were ducks on the pond and folks walking dogs and kids playing...! I could have walked for hours...or until it began to get chilly again!

Well, the trash is calling...we forgot to empty it week before last...don't want to do that again!
